STORY

Inspired by the sculptural works of Salvador Dalí and Diego Giacometti, our stool from Alexander merges the rustic sensibility of a hand-forged metal base with tailored upholstery. Employing an ancient fabrication process, artisans hand hammer the metal bars to reveal an alive, imperfect and organic texture, a counterpoint to the frame's slender, tapered silhouette.
DETAILS

Forged Brass base is handcrafted of solid cast brass; Forged Pewter base is handcrafted of solid cast stainless steel; Forged Bronze base is crafted of patinated solid brass

Frame handcrafted of kiln-dried solid hardwood

Reinforced joinery with corner blocking and mortise-and-tenon construction

Sinuous spring suspension

Curved, X-shaped base reinforced with a horizontal stretcher bar is forged of solid metal and hammered by hand

This item is artisan crafted with meticulous care. Given its handmade and hand-finished nature, variations in the metal work are to be expected and celebrated. Each item is unique and no two are exactly alike.

Tight seat cushion is high-resilience polyurethane foam topped with poly fiber fill

Professional upholstery cleaning recommended. Vacuum with an upholstery attachment to remove dust. To minimize fading, avoid placing in direct sunlight. Wipe metal with a soft, dry cloth; avoid the use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning materials.
